 TEACHER’S PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

reading corner 3TPD is all about making ourselves better than what we were yesterday and individual accountability comes at the top list to make the TPD program a successful one. Time to time motivational encouragement is always in demand to keep the passion alive. To make the said program an effective and productive, the school had formal meeting in the beginning of the session and unanimously decided to carry forward the following focused areas.

 

$COLLABORATIVE TEACHING-

 The aim is to make a refine lesson plan after following observation cycle (referred in TPD framework or SFU observation cycle) which could benefit all levels of students.

 PROCEDURE

 

collaborative teaching 6       $1ØForm a team of teachers.

       $1ØSelect topic

       $1ØDevelop learning goals

       $1ØDesign the lesson plan.

$1ØPeer teaching and peer observation. ( referring observation  cycle of SFU or TPD guideline)

$1ØAssess students progress toward learning goals

$1ØPeer analyzing and revision of lesson plan

$1ØTeaching of revised lesson again in a live class and analyze (revise and follow the cycle again if felt necessary)

HINDERENCE

collaborative teaching 3Time consuming and repetitive as most of the classes have only one section.

TEACHER’S READING CORNER (BOOK REVIEW)

      $1ØTo involve all teachers in reading, three groups were made consisting of teachers from all different departments.

     $1ØSelection of a group leader in each group to lead their group and conduct book review session as often as possible with in their group.

$1ØBiannual extended book review session with all groups shall be conducted in the mid and end of the session.

PERSONAL GROWTH PLAN

$1ØSelect the plan/goal in the beginning of the session.

$1ØSharing of PGP goal in the mid of the year in which teachers discuss their success, challenges and future plan of their PGP.

$1Ø Submission of written report by each teacher in the month of December.

PEER OBSERVATION/ MENTORING

Time to time peer observation and mentoring by the senior teachers are done as per necessary.
